It's been a while since the last update, so here's a synapsis of recent events in the club:

Last week, June 9th through June 13th, the team hosted the first session of its annual vEx Summer Camps. The session was a complete success; campees built standard competition robots for the Friday game, which involved finding their way through a maze and collecting ping pong balls while using a board camera as a visual sensor. Campees learned everything from the general engineering principles of designing and constructing basic drivetrains to the complex systems of arms and manipulators. Great job campers and we hope to see you at the next camp!

As far as the next camp is concerned, we have roughly 9 kids signed up! About half of them are returning, so they will continue where they left off, learning all about sensors and programming while the new members start from the beginning. This camp runs from June 23rd through June 27th, 10am til 3pm at Buena High School. If you're interested in joining, please sign-up through the online form (link on left in menu). Due to limited student-mentor staff, we can only supervise up to 12 students, so only a few more can sign up.

In other news, several members will be attending a luncheon this Thursday at the Thunder Mountain Activity Centre (TMAC) to thank the Old Crows for their donation and support this year and for a small presentation to further explain the club.

One last tidbit, Cox Communications is hosting a movie night at Veteren's Memorial Park on July 12th. The team has been invited to set up a booth and bring as many robots as possible before the showing. Try to make it if possible!

I've also set up an RSS feed (wiki article if you haven't heard of RSS feeds) for these news posts, so you can easily check up and see if any news has been posted. I'll try to keep everyone updated more often with this change as well.
